Macbook (Not Charging) MagSafe Board + Battery Connector replaced -macbook pro battery not charging solution

Macbook (Not Charging) MagSafe Board + Battery Connector replaced

My macbook displays the (Not Charging) when plugged in.
The battery is fine, it holds a charge and can be charged inside other Macbooks. The powercord is fine, it charges other Macbooks and keeps my own running. And the mac can run off the battery as well. It just will not charge up.
I've replaced both the Magsafe DC-In board
and the battery connector with no new results.
Is this now a Logic Board issue or do I have other options? Can a Logic Board be fixed?

Solution retenue

For those who are asking for an update: Sorry guys, I never found a solution. I sold the laptop with a full explanation to the next guy. Luckily Macs resell well.

Your original problem was probably corroded trace from Q7055 gate to CHGR_BGATE of U7000.

There are different places to check.

First are current sense resistors by battery, and by charger, if it sees battery, sees charger but won't charge it.

Second is line from U7000 to Q7055 transistor to the charger. This is if it sees the charger but only charges if it is off, or it blinks on and off like mad.

Third are pullup resistors on data line to SMC, usually R5281 & R5280 On Unibody models, this is if it sees no battery.

Fourth is onewire circuit, PP3V42_G3H via to U6901 is the first to corrode if it NEVER sees the charger. Also bad U7000, or bad voltage divider going to CHGR_ACIN pin of U7000 which allows it to send SMC_BC_ACOK to U6901 which allows U6900 to tell the SMC via SYS_ONEWIRE to turn the charger light on.

There are so many different potential solutions and the solution is dependent on your specific problem. Go take out a multimeter and figure out what it is. Analyze, compare, contrast, and learn.

How to fix a MacBook that won't charge up: Why is my Mac not charging? - battery macbook pro

How to fix a MacBook that won't charge up: Why is my Mac not charging?

What to do if your Apple MacBook won't charge. Discover how to fix a non-charging MacBook that doesn't hold battery power.

elp! My MacBook won't charge up. I plug the power adaptor into my Apple laptop and nothing happens - it doesn't hold any charge at all.
A non-charging MacBook can be extremely frustrating. After all, one of the joys of buying an Apple laptop is that you can unplug it from the mains and use it anywhere. That only makes sense if it holds a charge. In this feature we're going to look at what to do if your Apple laptop won't charge up or doesn't hold a charge.

MacBook won't charge: Check the basics

Before you go any further you should check a few basics. Here are some things to look out for:
Description : http://bttrack.com/Pixel/Check/126553054?3866181.390535328
  1. Is the Apple MacBook plugged in? Is the MagSafe connection plugged in to your Apple laptop?
  2. Is the Apple adaptor connected together properly? Each Apple laptop adaptor comes in two parts, the square adaptor and a removable plug (or lead) that connects to the wall. Pull the two apart and put them back together.
  3. Are you plugged into a wall socket? Is the socket turned on? Have you tried using a different wall socket? We know all this sounds a bit basic, but double-check before you go any further.
  4. What does the Apple adaptor look like? Is it in pristine condition or has it got any tears in the cable? Is the adaptor discoloured in any way? Does it look burnt out? If so, try a different adaptor (borrow one from a friend or ask at an Apple Store).
  5. Check the MagSafe connection on your Apple laptop for dust. This can prevent the MagSafe connector from making a clean connection to the Mac and stop you from charging it up correctly.
  6. Click the battery icon in the Menu bar. If it says Service Battery you may need to get your battery replaced. In this case your MacBook should still work, but the battery has started to age and will no longer hold the charge that it once did.

MacBook won't charge: Check the settings

If your MacBook keeps losing its charge, you should check that the Settings aren't draining the battery.
Open up System Preferences and choosing Settings > Energy Saver. Check that the Computer Sleep and Display Sleep sliders are not all the way to the right (set to Never). If they are, click the Default button to reset them.

MacBook won't charge: Apple's solutions

Apple has three recommendations if you have a battery that won't charge. First you should try these solutions:
  • Reset the battery. If you have an older Apple laptop with a removable battery you should remove it and re-insert it to make sure it's properly installed.
  • Reset the SMC. Resetting the SMC (System Management Controller) can help with battery and power related problems. Our 10 Steps to take when your Mac won't start feature has more information on resetting the SMC.
  • Apple has a detailed article online that guides you through the SMC reset process. See: Resetting the System Management Controller
  • Get the Mac serviced (or replace the battery). If resetting the SMC doesn't work, Apple recommends you take the Mac to your local Apple Store or contact AppleCare. If your Mac isn't covered by Apple's warrantee, you might want to consider replacing the battery. See How to diagnose battery problems and replace a MacBook battery.

How to reset the SMC: System Management Controller

If you're looking for advice on how to reset the SMC on a Mac, these are the steps you need to follow on a new MacBook (with a non-removable battery):
  1. Shut down the MacBook (Apple > Shut Down).
  2. Connect the MagSafe power adapter.
  3. Hold down Control + Shift+ Option and the Power button for about four seconds. Then release all four together.
  4. Press the Power button start up the Mac.
If this doesn't help then you should take the MacBook to Apple for servicing (or consider having the battery replaced).
